Dearest Papa

It hurts and it always will.

It has been more than 6 years and we still look for you in crowd, hoping to see you. Somewhere in the middle, smiling and waving your hands. The void in our life can’t be filled and it never will. Every year 3rd Jan comes and goes, with that strong memory of your birthday celebrations. We are writing a small letter in open source, as internet has deeper reach, hoping that it can reach you too.

People say, he is in a better place, but we know, our home was the best place for you. They say, he is looking at you and guiding from there, but I know you always preferred being in front and guiding from the frontline. As you used to sing this song ” Kuch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna,” people still say and perhaps they always will.

We often see you in dreams, in different situations and wake up with happy face irrespective of what was in the end. Somehow, we are happy to see you. In the end, even in our dreams, you will always save us, you’ve always had and you always will.

Every function starts with your thought and the liveliness you used to bring in it. Our mutton curry never tastes as good as the one you used to make on Holi. These festivals are cruel, these are not the same without you. It is a roller coaster of emotions, normally we are happy and lively, then next minute there is silence. Silence is very loud, unbearable at times.

But, don’t worry, we are still strong. All are well and miss you dearly, especially Maa. She does not say much but her silence at many occasions say it all. We are positive and with your love and blessings, we are growing very strong.

This can go on and on, but you already know. We love you and you are always in our hearts and always will.

Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA.

Everyone has their favourite season,
Some like the springtime freshness, some enjoy the summer sunshine.
Others may love the monsoon rains,
But the cold winter season is my favourite time.

The days have become shorter,
The nights are getting cold.
The winter is welcomed by all,
The kids, the young and the old.

The morning chill has been here for a while now,
The blue sky is no longer clear.
People are seen in layers of clothing,
The first snow spell is assuredly near.

The feathery white flakes fall all night long,
The crispy brown grass is turning white.
Even when the night is unlit and dark,
The snow makes it appear all glaring bright.

Oh! Look the deodars stand tall covered with snow,
The picturesque view is gorgeously cinematic.
The green shrubs are all shielded in ice,
The snow-capped mountains look breathtakingly dramatic.

Shimla for all Seasons

feels like I have been to these places in those seasons. Well structured. Fun facts are helpful.

A lover of the mountains would always enjoy being among the humongous peaks and green hills that have fresh air and tall trees and all the beauty that one can possibly imagine. The hills look the best in all seasons. Whether it is the flowering season of spring where the new green leaves just begin to ooze out from the stems or whether it is the fall that witnesses the shedding of those old leaves that have turned brown and pale and cannot sustain themselves any longer, Shimla has been a popular at all times.

The hills have often instilled the travel bug in each one of us to leave behind the tedious and tiresome city life for some time, and be in the lap of nature. The summers and the winters are the two peak seasons of the city and attract travelers from all over.
